Quantitative Systems Biology Center

A convergence of quantitative systems biology approaches.

Our Mission

The Quantitative Systems Biology Center is a point of convergence for investigators interested in, or practicing, systems biology approaches on Vanderbilt Campus.
Our mission is to transform systems biology into a sustainable program of excellence at Vanderbilt University.  The QSBC’s goals are to support the Vanderbilt systems biology community by enhancing research, education, and training in mixed approaches requiring mathematical modeling and experimentation.

Mathematically rigorous yet biologically flexible quantitative systems approaches are required to develop encompassing theories for single cell and multi-cellular life.  Fully understanding biological systems requires connecting elements and tools from multiple theoretical frameworks including: dynamical systems theory, control theory, and statistical mechanics.
