QSBC February 7, 2020 Seminar Flyer

Anup Challa is Principal Investigator of Modeling Adverse Drug Reactions in Embryos (MADRE), a collaboration among Vanderbilt, Harvard, and Northwestern that leverages big clinical and drug-specific data to clarify drug safety for pregnant women and their unborn children. He is Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholar and Chancellor’s Scholar in the Accelerated Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering, and he also serves on the Core Operations Team of Vanderbilt’s drug repurposing program, with whom he designs data-driven tools to identify new therapeutic uses among approved drugs and to support the upstart of clinical trials for repurposing candidates. For the past two (2) years, he has served as Visiting Research Fellow with the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School. He was also the recipient of an Intramural Research Training Award from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, where he helped develop a virtual drug design platform with application to precision manipulation of the human microbiome. His interests include the application of informatics to solve problems in drug design, drug repurposing, and drug safety.
