The Mechanisms of Centriole Assembly
August 24, 2020 @ 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm UTC-5

We hope you are able to attend the CDB Monday Seminar on Monday August 24 when Jadranka Lončarek, Ph.D. presents “The Mechanisms of Centriole Assembly” at our weekly 12:15 pm CDB Monday Seminar Series held this semester on zoom.
Centrioles are microtubule-based structures that build centrosomes and cilia and are, in humans, critical for numerous cellular processes such as cellular signaling, mitotic spindle assembly, and cellular architecture. How centrioles, assemble in a proper number and shape is still an open question and will be the subject of this presentation.
Jadranka Lončarek, Ph.D. is a cell and molecular biologist researching the molecular mechanism of centrosome biogenesis and their function, with particular attention on numerical control of centrosome formation in non-transformed and cancerous human cells. Dr. Lončarek is hosted by Irina Kaverina.
